We were a group of five trying something new. The menu was great with all the variety. Bubble tea was good and everyone enjoyed their food. The service was a bit lacking but they were slow on a Monday night and we are patient so it didn't bother us.
An accidental find! Varied menu from many cuisines, all done perfectly! We had delicate chicken gyoza with a wonderful sauce, pasta with clam sauce featuring fresh clams in the shell, delicious tender jasmine rice with perfectly spiced chicken masala and light naan. Oh, and the rice pudding!!! Don't pass this place pass you by!!!! The cook was on his game, service was excellent, and the custom drinks were crisp and buzzy.
The Shaking Crab has delicious seafood and excellent service. Our waiter Shawn was spectacular and very hospitable. He made me an excellent drink that I asked him to decide for me. We started off with the spicy calamari (excellent) while My brother had the fried lobster sandwich which he raved over. I had the King Combo which I couldn't finish, and I'm a big guy. They're located in the old Outback restaurant and I highly recommend you try it out.
Went back to try this again, solely based on proximity. Sadly, with all the season cancelling and general inflation, crab has gotten really expensive lately, $100 for 1 king crab, $60ish for 1 snow crab. It was a solid meal, but probably not worth the $160 just for the crab for 2 people. We are a taro household, so yogurt jelly balls are a distant second: that said, the bubble tea or tea with bubbling balls or whatever they call it was pretty decent. Nice add and layer to the crab experience, and nice comparison to our fave: Crab Town in Hamden! The robot must have been on a smoke (or oil) break. Nowhere in sight. Robot, you were dearly missed. Clean bathrooms and tables, but the floor was amazingly sticky. It rained when we went there, but it felt like I had stepped in a wading pool of soda, and was then walking on those fun-to-pop packing bubbles. Clean floors, just sticky.
Was a nice lunch with the friends. Staff were very friendly, helpful, and patient with us. Explaining some of the differences in the menu. Portions were a lot more than expected, and prices were very reasonable. Definitely a pleasant experience.
